Sarah welcomes her MEP colleague Edward McMillan-Scott who has left the Conservatives, where he was the Tories' most senior MEP, in order to join the Liberal Democrats.

Sarah said:

"I have long been an admirer of Edward, especially for his work on promotion of human rights and democracy in the world and for his leadership as a vice-president of the European Parliament. David Cameron has made the position of moderate, sensible, pro-European Conservatives intolerable in that party. No wonder they are coming over to the LibDems, the party of fairness, justice and internationalism."
